Crafting For Love of the American Dream

The journey of For Love of the American Dream began during the transformative 2016 election, inspired by powerful speeches from Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton, which affirmed that America is the greatest country on earth. This idea took root in a pivotal conversation with Alicia Glasgow, who passionately stated, “The stories of immigrants must be told.” That moment planted the seed for a script that would grow into something extraordinary—a tribute to the enduring promise of the American Dream.

The screenplay’s creation was a collaborative effort, weaving the talents and visions of three incredible writers over several years. The first writer, an Italian-American storyteller, drew deeply from his own heritage. He envisioned a period piece, honoring his grandmother’s immigrant journey—a personal and heartfelt narrative. While his masterpiece laid a strong foundation, the story still needed refinement.

A second writer reimagined the script, bringing the story to the heart of Washington, D.C. This shift imbued the film with a patriotic essence, highlighting the power and resilience of America’s capital as a backdrop for the pursuit of dreams.

Finally, the project found its Hollywood-ready form in the hands of Ben Dolce, who masterfully wove together the film’s themes with poetic symbolism. He introduced the cherry tree as a central metaphor—a reflection of the American Dream’s beauty, fragility, and enduring strength. Just as the cherry blossoms thrive in Washington, D.C., the film celebrates the perseverance and courage of those who dare to dream.

This is more than a film—it’s a legacy project, one that aspires to remind audiences worldwide of the ideals that make the American Dream timeless. It’s a story of hope, faith, and the collective human spirit—a story we believe is history in the making.

The end of this incredible journey will be marked when Ben Dolce steps onto the Oscar stage to accept the award for Best Original Screenplay, and For Love of the American Dream takes its place among the great Hollywood classics.
